Giant actuator pumps gas in Thailand
Rotork Fluid System builds largest ever pneumatic actuator, for delivery to a pipeline project in Thailand.
Rotork Fluid System has built its largest ever pneumatic actuator, for delivery to a pipeline project in Thailand.
The GP350 spring return actuator will operate a 107cm Class 900 Cooper Cameron ball valve to provide mainline shutdown duty on the Third Transmission Pipeline Onshore Project, constructed for the Thailand Oil and Gas Authority.
Designed to close the valve in 30s, the actuator provides a break torque of 533,000Nm and 155,000Nm of spring end torque.
It has been supplied with 16 other model GP actuators to operate Cooper Cameron 76cm and 91cm Class 300, 600 and 900 ball valves.
The project involves the construction of a third main pipeline route, from Rayong to Bang Pakong, which will facilitate additional gas supplies and secure higher gas distribution capacity in the future.
