RP technologies to aid war wounded

A Rapid Product Development Group product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 24, 2005

Rapid Product Development Group is supporting a ground-breaking project to satisfy the surgical needs of severely injured people in Iraq.

Rapid Product Development Group (RPDG) is to support RP4 Baghdad in the area of rapid prototyping.

RPDG will be donating stereolithography models in Somos 14120 or 11120, and cast urethane duplications in clear or opaque.

RP4Baghdad is a project which will use manufacturing to support the surgical needs of severely injured people in Iraq.

3D models based on medical image data are very helpful tools to support surgeons in the most complex craniofacial reconstruction surgeries.

Tony Moran, CEO of RPDG commented: "This is an opportunity for us to use our manufacturing technology to help those people who have been injured in Baghdad, and to bring a positive message of hope to those who are drastically in need".

"We are very excited about the opportunity to be involved in this project".

"We are hopeful to find other avenues domestically to support people in need with RP models for reconstructive surgery".
