Shipton takes charge of consultancy

Rapra Technology has been working with the Manufacturing Advisory Service - West Midlands (MAS-WM) in order to enable a leading manufacturer of surgical instruments diversify and expand its range.
He will manage the services and increasing workload in plastics product design and development, production and in service troubleshooting and general plastics consultancy.
Shipton was previously with polymer materials major, Ticona UK for 11 years; most latterly as the company Materials Scientist.
Shipton has particular expertise in plastics compound manufacturing.
He has a first class degree in polymer technology from Brunel University and a PhD in the compounding of fibre-reinforced thermoplastics.
Shipton also has qualifications from Ashridge Management School and last year he trained as a Six Sigma Champion with the SBTI in Dallas, Texas.
Industrial employment includes Courtaulds Research (Coventry) and Courtaulds Speciality Plastics as well as Ticona UK.
