Rapra's seventh international conference on new opportunities for thermoplastic elastomers is to be held on 15th-16th September 2004 in Brussels, Belgium.

The use of thermoplastic elastomers is developing rapidly into a major success story, both as a replacement for vulcanised rubber and for totally new applications.

To meet these demands TPE manufacturers and compounders are developing materials that offer improved application and processing performance.

The conference will open with market overviews from Robert Eller Associates and Barry Statham, setting the scene for the technical papers that follow.

The focus then moves to the developments in thermoplastic vulcanisates with Du Pont Dow Elastomers, DSM Thermoplastic Elastomers, Advanced Elastomer Systems and DuPont Company, Engineering Polymers presenting material advances.

Details of new innovation in styrenic block copolymers with be provided by Kuraray Europe and Goodyear Chemical Division.

On day two other aspects of TPEs are considered with papers on the characterisation of elastomeric properties (University of Applied Sciences Osnabrueck and Solvay Engineered Polymers), phase behaviour and structure (University of Manchester, and Universite de Mons-Hainaut).

A session on processing advances forms the second part of day two.

The potential of processing additives will be covered with presentations from ExxonMobil and Schill and Seilacher.

Profiling and moulding technologies will be discussed by LWB Steinl, Demag Plastics Group and Sigmasoft.

Day two is completed with an analysis of the rubber markets by IRSG.

For those involved in selling machinery, materials or services to the TPE market, this highly focused event will present an unrivalled opportunity to promote their companies and reach key decision makers.

Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available with this popular conference.

Companies can sponsor individual events such as dinners and receptions or individual items such as pens and notepads.

A wallet service is also available where companies can arrange to have a brochure enclosed in every delegate conference bag.

There will also be a tabletop exhibition organised to run alongside the conference.

Places at TPE 2004 retail at Eur 950 before 6th August 2004 and Eur 1150 thereafter (both plus VAT).

Discounts are available for companies who register three or more delegates.
