There are many different types of high performance elastomers but what they all have in common is flexibility combined with the ability to resist the effects of heat (or extreme cold) and chemicals.

Their unique properties are essential in hostile environments and application areas include the petrochemical and refining industries, automotive, aerospace, defence, wire and cable, construction, chemical plants, nuclear, medical, food and sealing.

Correct material selection, compounding and processing are essential.

The High Performance Elastomers Conference will provide a forum for material suppliers, engineers, compounders, manufacturers, processors and end users of high performance elastomers.

It will offer an exciting series of papers, addressing the opportunities for this group of elastomers, as well as the challenges to producers and users operating in a rapidly changing competitive environment.

Papers are now being invited for submission.

Presenting authors are entitled to free registration on both days of the conference including meals, refreshments and a copy of the proceedings.

Topics to be considered include: heat/cold and chemical resistance; applications, case studies and market analysis; compounding and processing technology; reinforcement; multiple-material components; and legislation affecting the industry.

Materials to be covered include: acrylic rubbers, ethylene-vinyl acetate, chlorosulfonated ethylene elastomers, fluoroelastomers, perfluoroelastomers, epichlorohydrin rubber, chlorinated polyethylene, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, carboxylated hydrogenated nitrile rubber, and silicone elastomers.
