Rapra Technology will be exhibiting its services and consultancy for the worldwide pharmaceutical industry at PABORD 05 during September at London's Olympia.

Rapra Technology will be exhibiting its services and consultancy for the worldwide pharmaceutical industry at PABORD 05, the 2nd International Pharmaceutical and Biotech Outsourcing Research and Development Exhibition and Conference.

The exhibition will take place in London's Olympia Exhibition Halls on 14th and 15th September 2005 where the new Rapra Pharma brand will formally be launched.

"There is an undeniable volume growth in the amount of polymeric material and product knowledge - analysis, testing and validation - now needed by the pharmaceutical and biotech industries", notes David Ingles, Manager for Rapra's Technology Sales Group.

"Our recent sales in this market have proved the need for an exhibition such as PABORD and have validated the use and need for a Rapra Pharma brand".

"We will be playing a full part at Olympia on 14th and 15th September to show our pharmaceutical and biotech visitors a complete 'one-stop-shop' for all their outsourcing needs in plastics technology related matters; in packaging contact issues, for example, and in product and materials analysis, design and testing".

Ingles says: "Pharmaceutical companies, quite rightly, want to stick to what they know in terms of drug research and design".

"They also want to let specialist suppliers such as ourselves take on a package of outsourced technical business further downstream".

"It is essential that these sub-contractors not only have experience in dealing with the pharmaceutical world but can operate to the level of quality demanded within the timescales imposed by clients".

"Rapra has a proven track record in this area and has positioned itself as the polymer outsource partner of choice".

Developing regulations in Europe now make it compulsory, for example, for extractables and leachables studies to be carried out on new pharmaceutical products.

This kind of outsourced work is now steadily increasing at Rapra Technology.

Ingles notes: "Our highly qualified and specialist teams at Rapra are able to give our clients best advice, practice and compliance through scientific method and validation - specifically with the appropriate studies, according to FDA/CDER guidelines".

"We are also able to offer a method development and validation services for clients".
