Rapra Technology is organising the Fifth International RubberChem conference taking place at the Marriott Hotel in Munich on 5th and 6th December 2006.

The European chemicals industry is facing one of its toughest periods in recent years Current changes to EU regulations combined with the pressures of high transport and energy costs are seeing Europe struggling to stay competitive in an increasingly tight market

Add to this the growth of TPEs at the expense of conventional elastomers and it is clear that today's rubber chemicals industry has a major challenge.

Only those with robust and innovative measures in place will remain competitive.

With this in mind Rapra Technology is organising the Fifth International RubberChem conference taking place at the Marriott Hotel in Munich on 5th and 6th December 2006.

Bringing together leading researchers, manufacturers and technologists from across the world, the newly published technical programme contains the latest research and development in rubber chemicals.

This year's conference will feature presentations from key industry players such as Degussa, Dow Corning, Rhein Chemie Rheinau, Lanxess and Milliken Chemical Speciality Elastomers as well as renowned academic institutions.

Programme highlights include presentations on new FKM compounds for turbo charged hose liner application; breakdown products from curatives and antidegradants used in food contact elastomers; and new structures of silanes in silica filled tread compounds.
