Rapra Technology's first International Conference on Polymers in Defence and Aerospace will take place in Toulouse on the 18th and 19th September 2007.

Rapra Technology's first International Conference on Polymers in Defence and Aerospace will take place in Toulouse on the 18th and 19th September 2007.

The conference will feature presentations from key defence and aerospace industry experts, as well as from polymer manufacturers, and it will bring together the defence and aerospace supply chains to discuss new polymer materials, applications and future requirements.

Advanced polymer based materials and technologies already play a vital role in enabling new developments in both defence and aerospace applications.

However, defence and aerospace applications are two key areas where polymer based material performance requirements are continually pushed to the limits of what is possible and where there is a constant demand for new and better materials.

This conference will cover all of the important areas specific to the defence and aerospace sectors relating to the use of polymers, from state-of-the-art research and development to characterisation, fabrication, technology development and many new and emerging applications.

Papers are therefore invited on a broad range of topics including, for example: thermally stable polymers; high performance polymers, composites and nanocomposites; smart materials and structures; polymer synthesis and processing design and fabrication technologies; reliability and testing, specifically for defence and aerospace applications; nanomaterials technology; electroactive polymers; sensor and transducer applications; polymer electronics and displays; radar absorbing materials; sealants, encapsulants, adhesives and coatings; conducting polymers; and replacement of metals.

Presenting authors at the Polymers in Defence and Aerospace 2007 Conference will be entitled to free registration on both days of the event including meals, refreshments and a copy of the proceedings.
