Implementing REACH - the year ahead

A Smithers Rapra product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 12, 2008

Seminar responds to increasing concern from companies faced with managing registration of substances, technical dossiers, joint submission of data and the obligations of supply chain communication.

Smithers Rapra is organising a one-day seminar "Implementing REACH - the year ahead", to be held at Smithers Rapra, Shawbury, UK on 26th June 2008.

REACH, the EU regulation for the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals is complex and disruptive and it's going to be that way for a long time.

It will affect the way companies do business and impacts on all business streams, from R and D, design and specification, procurement, quality and testing, H and E, through to sales and marketing.

The seminar, presented by Dr Steffen Erler, Head of REACH Services at Smithers Rapra, is a timely response to the increasing concern among companies now faced with managing registration of substances, technical dossiers, joint submission of data and the obligations of supply chain communication.

Dr Erler has followed REACH for more than a decade, working with the OECD Existing Chemicals Programme and the European Commission.

With a background in chemistry and toxicology, he has been involved in drafting and designing parts of the REACH Implementation Projects and has acted as a researcher and consultant for companies, investors and regulators preparing for REACH.

The seminar on 26th June will address the specific issues arising out of pre-registration and provide details on the latest tools and methods for dealing with substance registration and practical guidance on how to implement best practice procedures.
