Cost-efficient plastic pellet screening
Rotex Europe has a new plastic pellet screener specifically designed to screen smaller volumes extremely efficiently.
Rotex Europe, the new company formed by the merger of US company Rotex and UK-based Locker Process Solutions, has launched a new plastic pellet screener, specifically designed to screen smaller volumes extremely efficiently.
Managing director Martin Hawley said: "Over the past couple of years we have developed a number of bespoke screening solutions for the plastics industry.
This has given us a high level of expertise in plastic scalping, classification and dedusting processing, particularly for pellets.
The new machine, with a number of innovative features, provides a robust and cost-effective solution to screening smaller quantities of product with the same high level of accuracy as larger Rotex screeners".
The machine is specifically designed to overcome the problem of upstanding pellets (longs) passing through the screener, which is a problem with many vibratory screeners.
The new Rotex plastic pellet screener does not have a vertical component therefore pellets remain flat on the screen deck instead of passing straight through.
Using a unique horizontal gyratory motion and exclusive "dual velocity" drive, the plastic pellet screener provides unmatched removal of oversize and longs up to a capacity of 2500kg/h.
The long stroke, gyratory motion, which is four times the length of normal vibratory screeners, spreads the pellets evenly across the full width of the unit.
This motion then stratifies the materials, effectively removing fines.
Extremely easy to clean, the plastic pellet screener uses a single screen deck, which is simple to disassemble.
A double pass option is also available for screening pellets twice for greater accuracy.
Final product can indeed be up to 99% free of longs 9 to 50mm.
The machine, with only three bearings and a lower operating speed, offers very low maintenance and reduced noise levels on-site as well as wear and tear of component parts.
The machine uses a pretensioned perforated screen frame and variable frequency tappers to control blinding of the screen without the use of mesh cleaning balls.
A streamlined design, compact footprint and flexible mounting configurations mean the plastic pellet screener offers optimum use of space, with screener height as low as 690mm.
Rotex Europe will exhibit the new plastic pellet screener at SHAPA/PPMA in Birmingham, UK (24th-26th September), Powtech in Nuremberg, Germany (8th-10th October) and Expoquimia in Barcelona, Spain (26th-30th November).
For higher capacities, Rotex Europe is still offering the plastics industry its full range of Rotex screeners.
