Rotex Europe has been awarded a major new contract with Spanish sugar producer Acor.

The contract involved the supply of a natural frequency vibrating Vimec conveyor, with dimensions 1500mm wide, 300mm deep and 20m long, with a coil spring design and rubber compression reaction drive system, capable of carrying heavy loads.

Olivier Thouvard, sales manager for Southern Europe and the Middle East, said: "We are delighted to be able to supply Acor with conveying equipment for their new project.

We worked closely with our Spanish agent Mopsa to secure the contract and our combined experiences in the sugar industry across Europe helped ensure we provided the ideal solution for the sugar producer".

The Vimec conveyor will be used to transport beet sugar at a capacity of 110t/h along at floor level with a concrete foundation capable of supporting dynamic and static loads.

Beet sugar will be fed from 10 centrifuge units onto the conveyor and discharged onto elevatory equipment.

The design of the conveyor incorporates a 'by pass' discharge gate for emergencies occurring at the discharge end.

Rotex Europe will also supply spare parts with the machine to cover wear and tear and emergencies.
