The world's most advanced alarm annunciator

A RTK Instruments product story

RTK Engineering is launching what is claimed to be the world's most advanced integral logic alarm annunciator.

RTK Engineering is launching what is claimed to be the world's most advanced integral logic alarm annunciator.

Using RTK's unique ASIC technology the Series 725 Annunciator has been designed with a range of advanced features in a smaller housing, using less power and at a lower cost.

The alarm system will find many applications in all process industries.

Class leading system reliability and redundancy is achieved using the "No Master Module" philosophy.

In all P725 Annunciators there is no central control module or master controller.

All cards within a system can act as the master controller so there is no single source of system failure.

The Series 725 Annunciator is fully user programmable for both alarm sequence and function.

The programming is achieved from the front of the unit using the integral Programming Module.

All configurations can be achieved without removing any boards, backplates or alarm bezels, another first in the industry.

Three different window sizes are available and all can be quickly assembled from stocked pre-tested parts to provide annunciators of any shape and size to a customer's exact specification in a minimum amount of time.

Each window is backlit by incandescent lamps or optional ultra-bright LED assemblies.

Unlike traditional annunciators the use of ASIC and surface mount technology has allowed the overall housing depth to be limited to 135mm; less than half the depth of most similar products on the market today.

Because the exact text for the alarm windows is often not known until the latter stages of a project, a new method of producing film legends has been developed.

A specially written piece of Windows software is used to define the text and layout and print onto standard overhead transparency film.

All that is required is a standard computer with Windows software and a laser printer.

To cater for all normal applications from a world-wide user base, the range of standard inputs and outputs has been expanded to include inputs for 48 and 125VDC and five common relay outputs for horn relays, group relays and special function relay.

Each alarm window can also have individual repeat relays as an optional extra.

The standard unit is supplied ready to panel mount into a single cutout.

Units can also be supplied for 19" rack mounting, wall mounting and complete with standby power supplies and for extreme environmental conditions mounted within IP67 enclosures.

For applications where the display is driven from a remote source, a matching Lamp-only Display is available.

This is constructed from similar parts but does not contain the annunciator logic.

An eight page technical brochure is available describing the system in full.
