A RTP Company product story

Rogan Corp turned to specialty compounder RTP Company for help in providing quick, accurate and cost-effective colour concentrates for its PureTouch line of premium knobs and handles.

Looking for a way to differentiate itself from its competitors, Rogan Corp turned to specialty compounder RTP Company for help in providing quick, accurate and cost-effective colour concentrates for its PureTouch line of premium knobs and handles.

According to Chip Marshall, Sales Manager at Rogan, "By using RTP Company's glow-in-the-dark colouring systems, we have been able to open up outstanding new sales opportunities".

Recognising the potential of RTP Company's glow-in-the-dark compounds for safety products, Rogan incorporated the colouring systems into its PureTouch line of clamping products made of RTP 2700S Series saturated styrenic elastomer (SEBS) compounds.

"Currently our PureTouch product line is available in nearly twenty distinct colours", says Marshall.

"From light blue and hot pink to vivid greens and oranges, our glow-in-the-dark PureTouch products provide ideal solutions for low light applications where there is a need to set and reset positions.

By partnering with RTP Company, we are even able to offer customers the opportunity to create their own customised colours".

RTP Company's glow-in-the-dark technology uses phosphorescent pigments that quickly absorb ultra violet rays and then emit them slowly over an extended period of time.

Glow-in-the-dark compounds are available in two types: Type 1 quickly gathers a full charge, even in low UV light environments, and is formulated to glow ten times longer and ten times brighter than previous technologies; and Type 2 which requires approximately 30 to 60 minutes of a relatively high UV exposure to fully charge.

Type 2 materials are more appropriate for use in long exposure outdoor applications.

RTP Company recently became the sole supplier of Rogan's elastomer compounds.

According to Herman Ruiz, Materials Manager at Rogan, "We have long recognised RTP Company as an outstanding supplier of custom precoloured compounds.

We value their capacity and experience to deliver on time an in quantity.

This plays a vital role in the symbiotic relationship that has flourished due to constant innovation in our specific fields.

RTP Company has a great product which Rogan uses on its great hand hardware".
