As its sales increased, RTP Company's colour division needed to increase capacity to keep lead times short.

The colour division of RTP Company has expanded its capacity on a number of fronts for the production of masterbatches and precoloured resins.

"Additional capacity allows us to meet customer needs more effectively and increases our delivery flexibility", said Jean Sirois, General Manager - RTP Color.

"Currently, we offer a five-day lead time for colour masterbatches and precoloured resins".

"As sales increase, the only way to continue supplying in five-day window is to have a capacity growing at a faster rate so that we can stay ahead of the curve".

Recent capacity increases include five new extrusion lines at the company's Winona, Minnesota facility, one of which is dedicated to the manufacture of fluoropolymer colours and compounds.

"We've also added lines for colour laboratory and production at our Suzhou, China; Singapore; and Fort Worth, Texas locations", said Sirois.

"This year we will complete an expansion at our colour laboratory in Beaune, France, in addition to an extrusion line for colour products".
