The creation of International Nuclear Solutions from the Nuclear Services Division of RTS will see the formation of one of the largest nuclear engineering companies in the UK.

The creation of International Nuclear Solutions from the Nuclear Services Division of RTS will see the formation of one of the largest nuclear engineering companies in the UK.

Chris Brown, Chairman of INS, said: "This is a significant strategic move which we believe will pave the way for the creation of long term value for the nuclear business".

"The demerger will enable shareholders to invest in a pure nuclear services company".

The history of the RTS Group is that of shared expertise in core technologies, with individual companies within the group concentrating on different industrial sectors.

However, the synergies between the group companies, have, in recent years, diminished.

With much discussion about the strategic importance of nuclear energy as a way to decrease carbon emissions and improve the security of energy supply, both nationally and internationally, both the board of RTS Group and INS believe that this is a propitious time for the demerger to take place.

Tony Moore, CEO of both INS and RTS Innovation, explained: "As an independent company, all our focus will be on growing the business both nationally and internationally within the burgeoning nuclear sector".

"The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority recently estimated the cost of clean up and decommissioning in the UK, for the 20 nuclear sites within their portfolio, at GBP 63 billion".

"There is also potential in the medium to longer term, for INS in nuclear defence and to support any new investment in nuclear power generation".

"With our skills, we are extraordinarily well placed to serve the nuclear marketplace and to adapt quickly to this dynamic sector".
