Rubber Industries is offering a new free CD providing polymer and rubber selection guidelines to assist in the part design process.
A must reference for every designer of rubber parts, the CD contains a brief description of the most popular base polymers along with durometer range, useful temperature range, useful properties, typical applications and cost.
Applications not intended for a particular polymer are also called out in the selection chart of the CD.
Designers can focus on a specific performance characteristic using this CD selector.
Hardness, fluid resistance, temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, shrinkage, elongation, modulus and cost are areas the designer can zero-in on to make a design choice.
For fluid applications, the CD contains a chart listing Rubber Industries' compounds recommended for different characteristics and performance criteria.
The CD has been developed out of the company's more than 50 years experience in the custom rubber moulding business.
