Miniature coupling is ideal for micropumps

A R and W Coupling Technology product story

Compact coupling is composed of a flexible beam-cut polyamide element clamped to shafting with stainless-steel hubs and set screws.

New from R+W, the Microflex is a flexible miniature coupling that is only 5.5mm in diameter by 9mm in length.

The coupling is composed of a flexible beam-cut polyamide element clamped to shafting with stainless-steel hubs and set screws.

Suitable for sterile and clean room environments, the series FK is ideal for micropumps and micromotors used in medical and biotech applications.

Standard designs are balanced for up to 10,000rev/min.

Low lateral spring stiffness allows the coupling to absorb restoring forces on shaft bearings in slight misalignment, while maintaining its backlash free characteristics at a torsional stiffness of 23Ncm/rad.

The hub design allows for easy installation and removal by providing clearance for any shaft burrs created by the 2mm set screws.

The series FK has a nominal torque capacity of 10mNm and a peak torque capacity of 20mNm.

Standard bore diameter is 1.5mm, although this dimension is flexible.
