Pressure transmitter senses abrasive fluids

The Sensit P6420 pressure transmitter is a special purpose sensor developed specifically for measurement of the pressure in concrete slurry delivery lines, and for other abrasive fluids.

Typically used in high lift or long reach concrete pumping applications on building sites, to provide a signal input to the pump control system, the rugged sensor assembly is mounted on the side of the delivery line: it has a flush mounted, cavity free sensing diaphragm, with a flexible polypropylene shield in bright yellow.

This signals the presence of the sensor face, when occasionally dried-on concrete has to be manually removed.

The sensor is also mounted behind a separate stainless steel mounting boss, which is replaceable if worn away in use.

The two-wire armoured signal cable can be supplied potted into the sensor, or fitted into a separate terminal housing, which allows simple replacement after any site damage.

The high accuracy electrical output signal is 4-20mA from a 10-32V unregulated DC power supply, with typical standard ranges of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100bar, from -25 to +100C; other specifications are available to special order.
