Roxspur Measurement and Control will be exhibiting at the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems Exhibition, on 6th and 7th September 2006 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Roxspur Measurement and Control will be exhibiting at the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems Exhibition, on 6th and 7th September 2006 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Roxspur Measurement and Control is a UK based manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of instrumentation to the petrochemical industry, accredited to FPAL (first point assessment), and UKAS for calibration services for pressure, temperature, flow and electrical.

The stand will present the full range of the Roxspur Platon, Brearley, Nulectrohms and Sensit products, with a particular emphasis on those products that have found significant hazardous area application offshore on North Sea platforms.

Gary Marsden is the Scotland Area Sales Manager for Roxspur, and has special expertise in flow measurement products and applications.

Marsden will be pleased to meet any of his Scottish customers in Aberdeen, and will be introducing Andy Roberts, the UK Sales Manager for Roxspur, and a specialist in temperature measurement sensors and systems from Brearley and Nulectrohms.

As a part of Roxspur, Nulectrohms specialises in providing improved accuracy oil storage tank contents measurement systems, by monitoring the temperature profile throughout the tank contents.

Platon GMT metal tube variable area flowmeters, manufactured by Roxspur, are widely specified and supplied for petrochemical applications, both offshore and in shore terminals.

The simplest GMT units are rugged nonpowered and low cost flow indicators, using a metal tube body.

The external flow indication on a clear 150-degree scale is accurate to 2% of FSD, driven by magnetic interaction between the pointer and the internal float, which rises with the flow up the tapered tube body.

The construction has no glands or seals that might leak, or require maintenance attention.

Line sizes available are from 0.5 to 4in, typically with flanged connections.

Frequently supplied to meet NACE and offshore specifications, units are also available with special flanges, coded welding and full nondestructive examination at the UK factory.

The Platon GMTX Vampire unit offers 4-20mA electronic flow measurement and totalisation, in an intrinsically safe microprocessor based unit, which retains the local display that provides on-plant flow indication to an operator.

The Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems Exhibition will also see the introduction of two new complementary flowmeter product ranges now distributed and supported by Roxspur in Scotland.

The new ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter has already found significant offshore applications in monitoring produced water flows into and out of the sand filter/separators.

The monitoring of these flows has been shown to enable tighter control of the separation processes, and being clamp-on devices, the meters do not suffer from the wear problems experienced with the previously applied magnetic flowmeters, in the abrasive mixture of sand and water in the flow.

For further information please visit the Roxspur Measurement and Control stand, where the ultrasonic meter will be on display.

Recently introduced to the Platon product range, and on show for the first time at Instrumentation Scotland, are mass flowmeters and controllers for both gases and liquids.

Using modern technologies such as thermal mass and Coriolis metering, these devices provide accurate mass flow control for blending or process atmosphere control, suitable for gases and liquids down to very low flow rates.

Further instrumentation products manufactured by Roxspur, and complimentary products from the Platon Flowbits catalogue will also be on display in Aberdeen on Stand 630/636.
