The new welding system allows a Sandvik engineer to safely weld and inspect a belt from a remote location, aided by a camera and LCD screen.
"We have been using this technology in our workshops for some time", explained Staffan Karlsson of Sandvik Process Systems.
"Providing safe and secure working conditions, it allows the engineer to accurately control the welding torch remotely via a joystick".
Hindrichs - Auffermann (HA), one of the leading specialist producers of smooth and textured press plates and endless press belts will be launching its innovative, new Computer Aided Texture Design - CATD software, developed working alongside the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.
The program simulates textures on screen and is able to subsequently transpose them to the production tool with absolute precision.
The company is renowned for anticipating market trends and this software can save development time, while increasing production security.
HA's new 2007-2008 sample collection, created in co-operation with five leading decor paper manufacturers, displays a perfect balance between textures that people want to touch and beautiful designs with stunning visual appeal.
Information on the full range of Sandvik steel belts, textured endless press belts, press plates and associated tooling for wood-based panel production will be available on the stand throughout the exhibition.
