High-power battery recharges in quick
time

The new VH D nickel-metal hydride cylindrical cell has been developed for applications requiring rechargeable batteries capable of providing high power, extended autonomy and fast charging.

The new VH D nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) cylindrical cell from Saft has been developed specifically for applications requiring rechargeable batteries capable of providing high power, extended autonomy and fast charging The VH D, which Saft believes to offer superior performance compared with any equivalent sized Ni-MH cells currently available on the market, was designed originally to fit professional video equipment and is also ideally suited for electric bicycles, scooters and wheelchairs, home appliances, gardening equipment, lighting and radio control models

The VH D cell combines super high capacity and quick and fast charge capability with good storage ability.

It features a foam positive electrode, a nickel metal-hydride negative electrode and an alkaline electrolyte.

The nominal voltage of the VH D is 1.2V and its typical capacity at C/5 is 8500mAh.

It can provide a continuous peak current of 40A at +20C as well as pulse currents up to 100A.

A standard charge for the VH D is 850mA for 15h, but it will also quick charge in 4-5h at 2500 to 2000mA, and can be fast charged in 2-3h hours at 5000 to 3500mA.

The VH D is available as individual cells or can be supplied in a range of standard or custom designed battery packs, complete with electronic monitoring systems.

Saft's VH range of Ni-MH cells also includes AAA, AA and Cs HP sizes. Request a free brochure from Saft Rechargeable Battery Systems ...
