Embedded I/O server promises best of both worlds
New from Sealevel Systems, the fanless Relio R1000 embedded I/O server combines the reliability and design consistency of a PLC with the versatility of an industrial computer.
New from Sealevel Systems, the fanless Relio R1000 embedded I/O server combines the reliability and design consistency of a PLC with the versatility of an industrial computer.
For flexible local and remote I/O expansion, the system connects to Sealevel SeaI/O data acquisition modules available in a variety of digital and analogue versions.
Powered by a high-performance, low-power 600MHz Celeron M processor, the R1000 is packed with standard I/O including 10/100BaseT Ethernet, two serial ports, one high-speed USB 2.0 port, and two USB 1.1 ports.
The product is designed and maintained with strict attention to long-term availability, avoiding the obsolescence problems inherent with motherboard-based industrial computers.
Interface to a wide variety of real world devices is available using Sealevel's popular SeaI/O family.
System specifiers can choose from Reed and Form C relays, optically isolated inputs, TTL, A/D and D/A options.
R1000 systems communicate with SeaI/O devices using Modbus RTU allowing one or more SeaI/O modules to be physically attached to the R1000 or located remotely up to 1200m away.
Measuring just 190.5 x 129.5 x 45.7mm, R1000 systems are housed in rugged metal enclosures and are small enough to mount almost anywhere.
The R1000 is powered by 9-30V DC, and power is provided to SeaI/O expansion modules using convenient pass-through connectors.
A VESA mounting bracket is available that attaches the R1000 directly to flat panel monitors to create a robust, expandable flat panel computing solution.
Windows XP Embedded is a perfect operating system choice for Relio systems.
Sealevel offers application assistance for efficiently transferring customer applications to the XP Embedded platform.
Other supported embedded operating systems include Windows CE.NET, embedded Linux, and QNX.
R1000 systems are priced beginning at $995 and product is available immediately from stock.
