Clima thermal management software is an invaluable tool for designers who need to ensure that equipment mounted within enclosures is protected against extremes of temperature

An invaluable tool for designers who need to ensure that equipment mounted within enclosures is protected against extremes of temperature, the latest version of the popular Clima thermal management software package from Sarel, a brand of Schneider Electric, is now available, free-of-charge, to all enclosure users.

Operating under Windows, the versatile Clima package greatly reduces the amount of design work needed to tackle difficult thermal management situations.

These include, for example, applications where multiple items of electronic equipment, with a limited operating temperature range, need to be accommodated in a relatively small enclosure.

The package is also an essential aid in applications where the enclosures will be exposed to unusually high or low ambient temperatures.

Sarel's Clima software is fast and easy to use.

The package guides users through a simple data entry process relating to the enclosure, its contents and the ambient operating conditions, and then provides recommendations for effective thermal management.

Where necessary, guidance is also given on the selection of auxiliary cooling or heating equipment.

Once entered, data for each project can be stored for future reference, or for use as the basis for further calculations.

Printed reports can also be generated, containing both the original data and the recommendations produced by the software.

To ensure maximum user convenience, the Clima package is pre-loaded with data for Sarel's most popular enclosures, including steel, stainless-steel and GRP products.

Other types of enclosure may, however, be specified, simply by entering their dimensions and details of the material from which they are constructed.

The package also includes typical dissipation data for a wide range of commonly encountered components.

Clima software is supplied on a CD-ROM, and is suitable for use with all modern PCs.
