Staubli has a new coupling that offers a number of significant and worthwhile benefits on connection systems for all types of fluids.
The new HCB coupling is compact and has a flush faced non-spill design, preventing any air inclusion in the system when connecting as well as avoiding spillage on disconnection.
The bayonet locking system, just push and twist, provides a safe, quick and reliable connection that is also suitable for high vibration applications.
The locking system provides a positive feedback response eliminating any misconnection.
Additional safety features have been built into the new HCB coupling.
The bayonet locking mechanism is available either in the standard configuration or with four differently positioned colour-coded locking lugs on the plug that can only be connected to the specific matching socket.
The standard socket (or plug) cannot be connected to any of the four special keyed plugs (or sockets).
This provides five different connector configurations where each one will only connect to the partnering plug or socket, eliminating any chance of cross connection.
Coloured plates can be added to built in sockets giving immediate visual circuit identification.
Three flow diameters are available in the HCB range 3, 5 and 8mm with a maximum working pressure of up to 350bar.
The coupling is manufactured from grade AISI/SAE 316L austenitic stainless steel providing strength and resilience combined with excellent corrosion resistance.
A wide range of seals is available, Nitrile is standard, but options include fluorocarbon, ethylene-propylene and fluorosilicone seals, making the HCB suitable for all types of fluid.
The efficient internal design results in minimal decrease in the flow/pressure ratio measured either from socket to plug or plug to socket.
The HCB coupling is available on next day delivery to all parts of the UK.
