Coupling boosts flow and stops whipping hoses

A Staubli UK (Connectors) product story

A novel design of compressed-air anti-hose-whip coupling requires only 50% of the connection/disconnection force of previous models and provides a 20% higher flow rate.

A novel design of compressed-air anti-hose-whip coupling requires only 50% of the connection/disconnection force of previous models and provides a 20% higher flow rate.

The new Staubli RCS 11 coupling is suitable for all types of compressed air lines.

Typical applications are on large pneumatic tools, ring mains, press tools and test benches.

The connection force required is only 125N at 6bar pressure - 50% lower than the previous model.

The risk of hose whip on disconnection is eliminated by Staubli's unique two-stage process, which conforms to all the requirements of the anti-hose-whip regulations in both BS EN983 and ISO4414.

The first push on the disconnect button decompresses the downstream pressure without disconnecting the plug and without any risk to the user.

The second push on the button safely releases the depressurised plug from the socket.

There is an additional option of a raised pushbutton for use in applications where the operator is wearing gloves.

The nominal bore of the coupling is 11mm diameter and the maximum flow rate is now 180Nmü/h - 20% higher than the previous model.

The working pressure has also been raised to 16bar.

Like all Staubli couplings, the new RCS 11 is available on next day delivery to all parts of the UK.
