An FIA approved, patented design of in race refuelling connectors responds to the increasing demand for safer refuelling of cars in the pit lane.
Staubli Motorsport has introduced an FIA approved, patented design of in race refuelling connectors, the SAF, in response to the increasing demand for safer refuelling of cars in the pit lane.
Staubli has been manufacturing high integrity quick release connections for over 50 years and provide motorsport with specifically designed connections for many racecar applications.
Staubli's rigorous design approach gives its products the combination of high performance, reliability and lightweight, demanded in car racing applications.
This innovative, dry break, refuelling coupling sets new standards in the drive for rapid in race refuelling.
It is approved by the FIA but is also finding applications in the motorbike arena.
It is suitable for all endurance sports car racing applications including Le Mans Series, GT and many single seater Formulas.
Designed and patented by Staubli, the SAF is a single, co-axial, coupling; this design removes the need for separate filling and venting points.
Refuelling is quicker, any chance of misalignment is eliminated, access is only required to one side of the car and just one operator can safely refuel.
The coupling fully complies with FIA regulations.
The locking mechanism is failsafe; fuel will not flow unless the coupling is correctly seated and flow is stopped immediately if operator pressure is removed.
Five security pins prevent any fuel release until the nozzle is securely connected to the socket.
Each nozzle is fitted with a polyurethane sleeve to withstand shocks.
It is designed for both pressurised and gravity filling applications and is suitable for all types of fuel, including methanol.
Staubli's clean break technology provides absolute nonspill refuelling.
New applications for Staubli motorsport connectors are coming through all the time.
