Domestic appliance manufacturer Dyson has equipped its service engineers with new Seaward PrimeTest 200 multifunction electrical testers.

Domestic appliance manufacturer Dyson has equipped its service engineers with new Seaward PrimeTest 200 multifunction electrical testers.

Seaward distributor Acute Sales has supplied Dyson with 200 handheld test units for its UK team of service engineers for diagnostic and electrical safety testing of Dyson vacuum cleaners and washing machines in the field.

The new all-in-one tester incorporates all electrical safety tests for Class 1 and Class II electrical equipment, along with electrical installation and digital multimeter test functions.

As a result, the PrimeTest 200 not only confirms the electrical safety of domestic appliances, but also checks the condition of the electrical circuit to which they are connected.

Malcolm Hird, Dyson National Service Manager, said: "The multi-test functions of the PrimeTest 200 make it a highly versatile instrument".

"It is ideal for our engineers".

"Electrical safety is a key part of our service programme and the PrimeTest200 units allow us to perform tests quickly and effectively".

Specifically designed for field service engineers in the vending, white goods, AV and office equipment sectors, the PrimeTest 200 has the ability to perform 10 different tests including temperature measurement.

Battery powered for multimeter measurements and most electrical safety tests, the unit can be mains powered for touch current, leakage and RCD testing.

The PrimeTest 200 forms part of a range of special portable electrical testers from Seaward that includes the PrimeTest 100 for basic electrical safety checks and the lightweight PrimeTest 300 for more comprehensive portable appliance test requirements.
