A Seaward Electronic product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 4, 2007

Seaward Electronic's Primetest 100 is designed for the fast and effective safety checking of all types of Class I and Class II portable electrical equipment used in the workplace.

Seaward Electronic's new entry-level workplace electrical equipment safety tester combines the functionality of a portable appliance tester with an IEC lead tester and power socket checker in a single instrument.

Designed for use by electrical and maintenance engineers, the new Primetest 100 is a battery powered handheld tester that is designed for the fast and effective safety checking of all types of Class I and Class II portable electrical equipment used in the workplace.

The unit has been designed for those looking for an easy to use comprehensive tester for electrical safety testing and servicing applications.

The versatile tester also carries out IEC lead polarity tests and checks the socket is wired correctly.

Graphics on the case of the instrument guide the user through the three test modes available and a single push button operation establishes the appropriate sequences for the selected tests.

Tests are carried out against pre-set pass/fail limits and a large LCD gives a clear pass or fail indication, as well as test values.

Although it does not possess an internal memory for test results storage, the new Primetest 100 is compatible with the PATGuard Workabout software that enables safety results to be recorded quickly and easily in a PDA for subsequent transfer to a PC-stored database or other record keeping system.

The Primetest 100 forms part of a comprehensive range of electrical safety testing equipment, software and training packages provided by Seaward Electronic.
