Seaward Electronic has developed a new electrical safety testing solution for those users that need to ensure that electrical appliances do not pose a hazard in the workplace, but who may only have basic training and relatively little experience.
Seaward's entry-level Basic PATSolutions package has been designed for electrical engineers, maintenance staff, caretakers and others with a safety testing responsibility in, for example, schools, colleges, care homes and the leisure industry.
Basic PATSolutions streamlines the selection of electrical portable appliance testing systems in line with the specific needs of users.
The concept offers a choice of test instruments, together with various accessory and software options as well as training, service and calibration support.
Test instrumentation options available in the Basic PATSolutions package comprise the simple push button operated Primetest 50 safety checker or the slightly more advanced Primetest 100 unit.
Both units are easy to use hand held instruments that are battery powered maximum portability.
The Primetest 50 is a basic electrical safety checker that provides an immediate 'pass/fail' indication at the push of a single button.
The Primetest 100 facilitates a broader range of tests for Class 1 and Class 11 appliances, as well as an IEC lead test.
Although the Basic PATSolutions package is primarily designed for those where computer based record systems are unlikely to be required, the availability of the PATGuard Workabout software means that where needed safety results can be recorded quickly and easily in a PDA for subsequent transfer to a PC stored database or other record system.
In addition to the Basic PATSolutions range, Seaward provides other PATSolutions packages to meet the different test system needs of electrical contractors as well as safety and facilities managers or service engineers that carry out in-house electrical safety testing.
In all cases the new systems give electrical contractors and safety or service engineers the opportunity to work smarter, improving productivity and effectiveness.
