Gas spring maker takes to the road

A Stabilus product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 23, 2006

Designer and manufacturer of gas springs and hydraulic vibration dampers sets off on an 18-month customer road tour.

Stabilus is on a road tour of its customers in a Ford F150 truck fitted with Stabilus products.

The 18-month tour is visiting major cities around the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The road tour provides an opportunity for customers to learn more about Stabilus products through application demonstrations.

The truck is fitted with various Stabilus gas springs and dampers, designed for the automotive accessory industry.

These include its Lift-O-Mat Inox, Kombi-Lift, Bloc-O-Lift-T, Inter-Stop and Dorstop gas springs, as well as the Ezdown drop-gate damper.

Gas springs provide a method of counterbalancing large covers and objects.

They provide capabilities for safely lifting, lowering and positioning heavy or cumbersome objects.

More versatile than mechanical springs, gas springs have the advantages of speed-controlled dampening, cushioned end motion, simple mounting, compact size, flat force curve and various available forces.
