Industrial Ethernet connection made easy

A Souriau product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 16, 2008

M12 connector for Ethernet and Profibus-PA handles applications in severe environments that do not necessarily require fibre-optic transmission.

The new M12 connector from Souriau, the microTX, makes it easy and quick to make Ethernet and Profibus-PA connections.

It is intended for all applications in severe environments which do not necessarily require fibre-optic transmission, whether in process automation, factories, CCTV, stations, road or rail signalling, airports, tunnels, telephone networks etc.

Compliant with 10Base-T and 100Base-TX standards, the microTX can handle transmissions at up to 100Mbit/s and can be screened for protection against electromagnetic interference.

It can carry voltages up to 125V and current of up to 8A (Profibus-PA).

Its protection level is IP67.

A full range of options is available, including connectors for AWG 24 or AWG 22 contacts, adapter with two receptacles for cable-to-cable extensions through a partition, harness with end connectors, receptacles for PCBs and an RJ45 adapter.
