Souriau to display new connectors at Autosport '09

A Souriau product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 31, 2008

Souriau's Motorsport Division will introduce a range of connectors at Autosport International 2009.

The range includes connectors with integrated mounting nuts and a lightweight cable receptacle connector.

The company will also display new performance products including a hermetic size two connector.

Mark Richardson, sales manager for Souriau UK, said: 'The integrated nut connector eliminates the nut plate, reducing build complexity and time.

'It also contributes to weight reduction targets, especially where size two or size four connectors are used in large numbers on a car.

'This new derivative will eliminate an extra operation, associated scrap and preserve the connector shell plating.' The hermetic size two connector is suitable for temperature and pressure sensor applications in harsh environments, such as gearboxes and engines.

It is the smallest five-way PC tail connector available and weighs just three grams.

It is manufactured from stainless steel so it can be welded directly to the sensor.
