Relays handle full range of test
voltages/currents

Available now from Schaffner EMC are a pair of high-voltage relays capable of carrying both the high voltages and high currents used in electrical testing.

Available now from Schaffner EMC are a pair of high-voltage relays capable of carrying both the high voltages and high currents used in electrical testing Designed and manufactured by SPS Electronic, the RL21 and RL42 are single- and dual-changeover-contact relays rated for test voltages up to 8kV and a contact load of 30A or 5kVA (max)

The relays are ideal for combined safety and functional test systems for electrical products, such as white goods.

In such applications, several kilovolts are switched for high-voltage safety testing, while a functional test on the motor might require a current up to 30A.

However, in addition to the high voltages and currents it is often necessary to use the same relays to switch very low voltages in the millivolt range and currents in the milliampere range.

The RL21 and RL42 use very high-quality switch contacts for reliable low-voltage and low-current switching, which also provides a long operational life.

The compact relays are enclosed, and can be mounted in banks without allowing any spacing between units.

A cap is available to protect against accidental electrical contact and the ingress of dirt.

Connection to the switch contacts is via 6.3mm Faston plugs, whereas the connections to the trip coil use a 4.7mm Faston plug.

The RL21 and RL42 relays are available exclusively in the UK from Schaffner EMC Ltd as part of the full range of electrical safety testers and accessories from SPS Electronic. Request a free brochure from Schaffner ...
