Schaffner EMC is to merge its two UK companies to make it easier for its customer base to do business, to improve communications and to strengthen its ability to respond to customers' total EMC needs.

The new company will be known as Schaffner Ltd and will bring together the Wokingham-based EMC components, instruments and ATE business with the Capel RF test systems organisation.

A new facility is being prepared near Guildford which offers 1500m2.

The location is midway between the two existing facilities and has excellent communication links by road and the nearby Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Michael Lowe becomes Managing Director of the new company and says: "This is an exciting opportunity to bring together our UK business activities under one roof in a new, purpose designed facility.

We will be able to share the technical abilities of both engineering teams and offer fully integrated EMC solutions to our UK customers".
