Smart amplifier achieves servo motion
profiles
SMAC's single-axis and dual-axis range of servo controllers now includes a stepper signal driven amplifier.
SMAC's single-axis and dual-axis range of servo controllers now have a stepper signal driven amplifier to complement their range The LAD-1 is a smart amplifier that achieves servo motion profiles using servo based step and direction (or count up/count down) type signal inputs

SMAC Europe has launched the LA 20 series of Linear, Linear and Rotary and Linear Slide actuators, which is the latest addition to its range of moving coil actuators.
New XY stage is manufacturer's smallest ever
SMAC Europe has released preliminary details of the LXY-10, its smallest ever XY stage, which has an overall dimension of only 65mm x 65mm x 81mm and a total moving mass is only 160 grammes
SMAC moving coil actuators and brush-type DC servo motors can now be used in applications previously limited to stepper motors.
It implements a mnemonic type command instruction set via a standard RS232 serial communication interface.
These commands are used to set various operation parameters, including PIDs to optimise performance, which are then stored in nonvolatile RAM for automatic retrieval at power up.
The LAD-1interfaces to the real world via an onboard PWM DC motor driver and a quadrature type encoder interface, eight dedicated optoisolated digital inputs and an RS232 serial communications link.
The digital inputs enable the user to select differing modes of operation, either position mode or unique torque mode.
When this stepper compatible amplifier is used in conjunction with SMAC's range of high-resolution low-cost actuators, it is now possible to have a system that is competitively priced against traditional stepper and ballscrew setups.
The smart driver is intended to provide a direct plug-in replacement for stepper/ballscrew systems, with all the advantages of direct drive without any supplementary software charges. Request a free brochure from SMAC Europe ...
