Shohet and Bowman add to medical technology

International technology consultancy Scientific Generics has appointed two more experts to the company's growing medical technology sector.

International technology consultancy Scientific Generics has appointed two more experts to the company's growing medical technology sector.

Dr Simon Shohet, previously of Cambridge Consultants and Nic Bowman, previously of The Technology Partnership (TTP) both take up senior roles within the company.

Scientific Generics has expanded its medical technology sector activity since acquiring US-based Genesis Medical Technology in 2000, establishing a global medical technology and innovation group.

Since then, the team has embarked on, and successfully completed, projects for major players including AstraZeneca, Siemens and GlaxoSmithKline.

Dr Shohet will lead medical technology consulting for Innovation and Technology Management (ITM) at the company and brings with him more than 15 years' experience with technology-based businesses, specialising in healthcare and life sciences.

He has worked in a wide range of areas including diagnostics, medical imaging and drug discovery, and his expertise includes technology strategy, product and market evaluation and R and D performance improvement.

Bowman has more than 13 years' experience working with major pharmaceutical companies.

His areas of expertise lie within the development of innovative medical devices.

Whilst at TTP, he specialised in drug delivery devices and pioneered "design for reliability" developing a powerful design methodology suitable for safety-critical devices.

Bowman will be part of the global business development team for the medical sector, specialising in drug delivery devices.
