Just one small step from subrack to desktop!

Schroff has introduced a revolutionary new subrack cover system that provides a cost-effective alternative to standard 19" cases for PCI systems.

The Projet subrack cover system exactly meets the increasing demands now being made for enclosures that offer greater flexibility and easier, and therefore quicker, handling combined with high-quality design at low cost.

Assembly costs are greatly reduced with just four parts being required to transform a subrack for mounting in cabinets into a visually attractive desktop unit.

Users simply screw the pastel green coloured plastic base to the two pulverised, silver aluminium-section side panels, slide in the subrack and screw on the plastic cover which, like the base, is also pastel green.

As Projet's four elements can be packed together extremely compactly, the case is also easily stacked in the warehouse, saving valuable storage space, which in turn has further cost benefits.

The cover parts do not need to meet any requirements for stability or for EMC shielding, as they are met by the basic system itself.

Schroff's europacPRO subrack, for example, has successfully passed EMC, shock and vibration, IP protection and Technical Inspectorate tests (T?V).

For Projet, conversion to a desktop case did not therefore require any additional testing and thus did not incur any additional costs.

And, it is not only Schroff subracks which can benefit from Projet.

The innovative new cover system is suitable for all subracks measuring between 2U to 12U high and 84HP wide, regardless of manufacturer.

The 300mm depth is geared to CompactPCI systems with rear-inserted modules.

For shorter subracks Schroff can supply a rigid back panel which the user simply screws into the side panels to bring out, for example, power inputs and cables neatly to the rear.
