Software makes for simple configuration of subrack
Schroff, the 19-inch expert, is the first on the market to offer a software program that allows the customer to configure individual subracks, plug-in modules, sub-units and front panels.
Handle protects CPCI boards in 19in units
Schroff's HLS (High Leverage Self-locking) handle fully complies with the IEEE 1101.10 standard and is suitable for the insertion and extraction of all 19" plug-in units.
Able to accept inputs ranging between 20V and 72V, the new power supplies represent the ideal solution for industrial and telecommunications applications.
The CPDC units, which are only 6 HP wide, deliver an output power of 100W across all input and output voltage ranges, including integral redundancy diodes.
Models providing between one and three output voltages are available, with 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V as standard.
Schroff development engineers have employed V/I-characteristic current limiting to ensure trouble free operation of every type of load, including motors and battery chargers.
Thanks to the high overall efficiency of between 85% and 90%, the converters dissipate significantly less power than earlier device generations, and hence generate far less heat.
The single version with one output employs active isolation for redundancy operation.
In the dual units, the two output voltages can be adjusted to give a symmetrical output of between 11.5V and 15.5V.
The triple module delivers a power of 50W at the main output; the user being able to take 25 W from each of the secondary outputs, which are isolated from the main output.
Single version units in the CPDC series allow current sharing operation and provide over-current protection at the input plus external "active off" control (TTL).
On the input side the under-voltage protection switches at 19V, and over-voltage protection at 73V.
The input circuit allows a soft-start with over-current limiting.
