New alliance in electronic packaging
announced
Pentair Inc and CTS Corp have formed a strategic alliance to jointly offer international customers electronic packaging solutions with integrated backplane technology in large-scale project business
Pentair Inc and CTS Corp have formed a strategic alliance Under this the Pentair operating group Pentair Enclosures, which includes Pentair Enclosures Group Europe with its industry-leading Schroff brand, will cooperate with CTS Interconnect Systems
The two companies will jointly offer international customers electronic packaging solutions with integrated backplane technology in large-scale project business.
The advantage to customers is that they will be supplied with a fully integrated system with coordinated components from a single source.
"We have been implementing comprehensive integration projects in enclosure technology for some time now, for example within the electronics, automation and ICT markets.
As part of these projects we integrate all the key basic modules of an electronic packaging system, such as backplanes, air conditioning, power supplies, EMC measures, cabling and cabinet monitoring, in an enclosure or cabinet", comments Eric Guiol, Vice President Sales and Marketing at Pentair Enclosures Group Europe.
"In the past, however, we were not able to handle such projects in the numbers increasingly being required especially by many telecommunications applications.
This is because our production capacities are mainly geared to mass production in the mechanical sector, e.g for subracks.
Backplane production, on the other hand, was limited until now.
As far as we're concerned, CTS Interconnect Systems is the ideal partner for jointly realising large-scale projects." The cooperative alliance will focus on the development and production of customer-specific solutions, with the two companies sharing their global resources in order to deliver the best possible service, predominantly to the European, US, Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian markets.
Pentair Enclosures and CTS Interconnect Systems are currently working closely on a number of projects.
Consideration is also being given to including additional members in the partnership alliance.
CTS Interconnect Systems, headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, designs and manufactures complex press-fit and surface mount backplane assemblies, as well as integrated interconnect systems for communications and computer equipment manufacturers worldwide.
The company has production facilities in Scotland, China and the USA.
The Pentair Enclosures Group Europe, which incorporates the leading brands Schroff and Hoffman, is one of the biggest names in enclosure technology worldwide.
Comprehensive experience, expertise, resource and capability gives customers from the electronic, electrical and comms markets access to the widest choice of high quality, innovative electronic packaging solutions in Europe.
Within the Group, Schroff is recognised as the leading name in the European electronic enclosures market, supplying cabinets, cases, subracks, microcomputer packaging systems and accessories.
While Hoffman is North America's leading producer of electrical enclosures and cabinets, for supply to OEMs, and construction and industrial manufacturing companies.
The Pentair Enclosures Group Europe with headquarters in Straubenhardt, Germany, employs over 1,800 people throughout Europe and achieved a turnover of EUR 245 million last year.
