Scientific Technologies has added a manual latch release mechanism to its T4011 heavy-duty safety interlock switch.

Scientific Technologies has added a manual latch release mechanism to its T4011 heavy-duty safety interlock switch.

The mechanism locks the actuator in the switch until the release button is pulled, so the actuator can be removed from the switch.

This makes the switch ideal for applications in which the actuator could be unintentionally removed - where there are vibrating guards, for example.

The latch release button can easily be moved to either the front or top position of the switch, and the head rotates so the stainless-steel actuator can enter from one of eight positions.

The T4011 has four sets of contacts, so it is a simple task to implement remote status indication.

Two sets of contacts allow dual channel safety monitoring, a third provides for visual status, and the forth can be monitored with a programmable logic controller.

The T4011's mounting pattern conforms to the internationally recognised DIN specification, and its all-metal housing makes it suitable for use in the harshest environments.
