A host of sensors tested by the German Federal Institute of Physics and Technology and Exi-approved have recently augmented Sick's range of inductive and magnetic proximity switches These devices, conforming to NAMUR, may be used in Explosion Protection Zone 1

Ex-protected variants of the inductive sensors of the IM 08, IM 12, IM 18 and IM 30 series are now available.

Two designs of each of the MM 12 and MM 18 series of magnetic proximity switches have been approved for Zone 1.

Those who require magnetic cylinder sensors with Ex-protection can choose from among a total of seven different types.

This allows the user to take advantage of Sick's wide spectrum of optical and non-optical Ex-sensors and deal exclusively with one company.
