Wide range of Ex approved sensors added by Sick
A host of sensors tested by the German Federal Institute of Physics and Technology and Exi-approved have recently augmented Sick's range of inductive and magnetic proximity switches.
Available with sensing distances of 50 to 100mm or 100 to 300mm, it features a diffuse sensor and red light LED light source.
With versions offering background or foreground suppression and small precise light spots, the W190T can be configured for light or dark switching.
A high visibility numerical display on the back of the sensor enables the user to visualise the scanning distance during the setup procedure, providing added precision and convenience in demanding applications.
In addition it displays the menu parameters for programming the output and time delay functions.
This makes it easy to set up multiple sensors with the same characteristics.
For less demanding tasks, the WT190T can be set up very easily and quickly using the "teach-in" pushbutton on the device, or externally via a programming wire.
Housed in a compact ABS enclosure and measuring only 44 x 30 x 15mm, it is rated to IP67 for installation in the most demanding industrial environments.
Supplied complete with a mounting bracket, installation is quick and easy.
Switching outputs are PNP or NPN and the unit requires a 10 to 30V DC power supply.
Connection is by means of a 2m cable or industry standard 4-pin, M8 plug.
Capable of providing a solution to the most demanding sensing tasks, the WT190T has many applications in the packaging, electronics, food and beverage, handling and robotics fields.
The introduction of the WT190T provides machinery builders and users with a product that is easy to install and quick to program.
It provides a cost effective solution to a wide range of presence sensing tasks across many manufacturing industries.
