Microscan's latest smart camera, the Quadrus EZ, makes it easier for manufacturers to use 2D symbols to track components and PCBs through the manufacturing process.

By combining the functionality of a vision system with the ease of use and price point of a laser barcode scanner, the Quadrus EZ provides a true out-of-the-box solution for decoding symbols on the electronics manufacturing line.

Regardless if the manufacturer is using linear barcodes or 2D symbologies, only two steps are required to set up Quadrus EZ.

Using patented, leading edge technology, the field of view locator allows the user to positively align the reader to the symbol in a matter of seconds without the use of video monitors or even a PC.

Once the symbol is aligned, all the user needs to do is push the "auto" button located on the back.

Quadrus EZ(tm) will automatically calibrate on the symbol.

"What manufacturers want is a plug-and-play system that is easy to use and still provides a high degree of performance", commented Matt Allen, Product Marketing Manager for Microscan Systems.

"Quadrus EZ and its auto button provides them with exactly that.

What could take hours to accomplish with a vision system, Quadrus EZ has simplified down to the push of a button".

As Quadrus EZ decodes both linear and 2D codes, it is ideal for manufacturers transitioning from bar codes to 2D codes and need a product that can read both code types.

With the ability to decode 60 codes per second, Quadrus EZ has the processing power to perform in demanding high-speed applications.

Additional features such as video input/output, USB and Ethernet connectivity gives Quadrus EZ the flexibility and functionality needed for easy integration into the manufacturing process.
