The StrainSense Series 420 rotary torque transducer provides torque data at any rate from 1 to 1000 samples per second for torque from 2Nm to 200kNm.

The StrainSense Series 420 rotary torque transducer provides torque data at any rate from 1 to 1000 samples per second for torque from 2Nm to 200kNm The latest enhancements to the series provide an option for continuous data at 1ksample/s for dynamic analysis and a burst data mode at 30ksample/s

Either mode can provide the full torque data range or the AC component of the measurement.

The burst mode will allow 30,000 samples to be taken in a short period.

The data are transmitted back alongside the average torque data.

Various configurations can be supplied to trigger the data collection point either to a torque/speed signal or external event.

The multichannel versions can also provide signals to show shaft bending or parallel offset running.

Applications for these features to analyse transient events include: gear meshing analysis, gear change analysis, start and stop transients and shaft vibration.

The Series 420 instrumentation can be built into most shafts as transducers or trials instrumentation.

The maximum operating speed is determined by the shaft diameter, up to a maximum of 30,000rev/min.
