A new range of brass press-in inserts is designed for easy installation in plastics with either an arbour press or a fully automatic machine.

They are suitable for use with ABS and polycarbonate plastics in applications such as securing circuit boards and displays on to plastic housings and many other generic uses.

Good overall joint performance is achieved.

The inserts feature a helical knurl that is designed to optimise plastic migration into the knurl, resulting in good pull out and torque resistance.

A generous pilot is also provided to ensure proper alignment of the insert in the hole as well as ensuring it is perpendicular after installation.

All the new inserts are designed to be pressed into a plastic hole without first melting the plastic.

The Spirol Series 50 version is a symmetrical through hole press-in type, whereas Series 51 are headed inserts.

The introduction of the new inserts underlines Spirol Industries' commitment to the development of new products to meet ever-changing customer needs.

Rather than providing off-the-shelf products, the company offers a technical advisory service to ensure selection of the most suitable insert and installation method for any application.
