Inserts press in to secure

A Spirol Industries product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 18, 2006

Press-in inserts are ideal for ABS and polycarbonate plastics in applications such securing circuit boards and displays onto plastic housings.

Spirol Industries has now added two new press-in versions to its standard product offering.

The new range of press-in inserts has been designed to be installed either manually or automatically.

The available insertion equipment ranges from simple arbor press through to full automation of part and insert.

The brass press-in inserts have a helical knurl designed to optimise plastic migration into the knurl.

Extensive plastic migration into the knurl provides good pull-out and torque resistance.

In addition, a generous pilot ensures proper alignment of the insert to the hole and perpendicularity after installation.

This insert series is ideal for ABS and polycarbonate plastics in applications such securing circuit boards and displays onto plastic housings.

Spirol Series 50 is a through hole press-in insert and Spirol Series 51 is a headed, through hole press-in insert.
