New injection line service centre founded

A Sandvik Materials Technology UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 6, 2007

Sandvik's new service centre handles both seamless coiled tube and laser welded tube, including a complete range of additional services.

Sandvik has invested in a new, dedicated service centre at its Houston warehouse to provide the oil and gas industry globally with a complete solution for control and chemical injection lines.

Covering both seamless coiled tube and laser welded tube, including a complete range of additional services from cut-to-length to encapsulation as well as flushed and filled, the centre is designed to offer a quality-assured, fast and efficient service.

The service centre complements the company's extensive seamless coiled tube production facility in Arnprior, Canada, and its ability to offer fully integrated manufacture from steel making through to finished coiled tube.

"Because of the very nature of its operation, the oil and gas industry requires quick, responsive suppliers who can offer the right solution package for use in some of the most demanding environments, worldwide", explained Haydn Eagle of Sandvik.

"Equally it has to have dependable product with accuracy in specification, measured lengths and guaranteed delivery - on time, every time".

"It is with these requirements in mind that Sandvik opened the Houston service centre to supply fast track coiled tube direct to site".

In order to provide a complete product package to major end users Sandvik has partnered with laser welded tube manufacturer Webco, bringing together the joint expertise of the two companies in servicing this sector of the oil and gas marketplace.

The service centre and Houston warehouse now carry master coil stocks of both seamless and laser welded tubing to enable fast-track order fulfilment.

Available in stainless steel grades 316L and A825 (Sandvik Sanicro 41), these stocks cover the most popular size range and grades used in these oil and gas applications, with 6.35-12.7mm outside diameters and 0.89-1.65mm wall thicknesses.

Other grades such as SAF2507, San28 are available on short lead times.

Offering extensive expertise in ready to install, control and chemical injection line package solutions, the service centre can supply seamless and welded tube delivered on the customer's own reels or decoiled and cut to length.

Encapsulated systems can also be provided, as can a flush and fill service with hydraulic oil, according to the Nas Class 6 standard for cleanliness.

Technical support is available from Sandvik to assist in the correct material selection for a given environment and, where the requirement exists, to develop a product for bespoke applications.
