Fluid control units suit aggressive media

A Sensortechnics UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 24, 2006

Isolated diaphragm solenoid valves are two-way normally closed or three-way universal fluidic control devices compatible with many aggressive liquid and gaseous media.

Sensortechnics has introduced isolated diaphragm solenoid valves from Parker Life Sciences.

Liquid X valves are high-performance, two-way normally closed or three-way universal fluidic control devices.

They are compatible with many aggressive liquid and gaseous media, such as bleach, acids and chlorinated solvents.

The media isolating diaphragm is optionally made of EPDM or FFKM elastomer and separates the flowing medium from the internal valve components.

These compact products have a manifold sub-base with 12mm centreline spacing to increase design flexibility and reduce system size.

Additional manifolds with female threaded ports are also available.

The valves have operating pressures from vacuum to 3.5bar.

Internal volume is less than 32ul to manifold interface and they have 2W maximum power consumption for 12 and 24V DC supply.

Applications can be found in clinical diagnostics devices, such as liquid chromatographs, as well as in medical and bio-analytical instruments.
