Pressure indicating sensor film from Sensor Products is a nondestructive testing tool that maps and measures pressure distribution and magnitude between mating, contacting or impacting surfaces.

Pressurex pressure indicating sensor film from Sensor Products is a versatile nondestructive testing tool that maps and measures pressure distribution and magnitude between any mating, contacting or impacting surfaces.

Thousands of engineers working at companies ranging from small businesses to the Fortune 100 rely on the film to aid in design analysis, product development, quality control, failure evaluation and troubleshooting.

The instrument can evaluate inconsistent pressure distribution on gaskets, clamps, heat seals, nip rolls, tyre treads, welding heads, composite lay-ups and heatsinks.

An optical imaging services can quickly characterise how force is disbursed in any application where the film is used.

The company uses a scanning system called Topaq.

Topaq is a post-process interpretive system that renders high resolution colour-calibrated images of impact density on Pressurex film.

With accuracy within 4%, the system produces statistical information such as total force, average, minimum and maximum pressures, standard deviation and more of the entire image or a user-defined region.

Because Topaq depicts the exposed film with 2D and 3D pseudo colour imaging, histograms and line scans, these results allow for the viewing of previously undetected pressure details.
