Sensors detect distance and volume

A Stedham Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 6, 2006

Analogue output capacitive proximity sensors can detect nearly all target materials and indicate how far away the target is or how much target material is present.

Stedham Electronics has introduced analogue output capacitive proximity sensors.

Capable of detecting nearly all target materials, these sensors can indicate how far away the target is, or how much target material is present.

Available outputs are 4 to 20mA or 0 to 10V DC.

Shielded and unshielded versions, with either cable or M12 micro connector terminations are available.

The sensing distance is adjustable with a potentiometer.

A power-on LED and a signal-strength LED indicator are provided.

The signal LED intensity varies with the distance to the target.

The sensors are also suitable for applications requiring determination of how much material is present.
